Sydney Mardi Gras Withdrawals? Why Stop if You’re Still Feeling FABalice.

Mardi Gras season is well and truly upon us and what better way to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ lives, culture, communities and creativity, then a trip to Alice Springs?

As the beating heart of Australia’s Red Centre, Alice Springs is renown for its indigenous Australian heritage and the home of our traditional Custodians.  With such a timeless culture what better place to bring in something a little more colourful. Its only fitting with the Alice having one of the highest proportions of lesbian couples in the country. The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) 2016 census figures data displayed that female same-sex couples accounted for proximity one in a hundred of all couples in the town.

Thanks to the inspiration of the Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Alice Springs locals have launched ‘FABalice Festival‘. Spread across 3-days there is a stellar line-up of events such as:

  • Drag Crawl -Comedy and cabaret show
  • Pageant
  • Drag racing
  • Throb on Todd
  • Pool Party
  • outdoor cinema

The FABalice Festival team pride themselves on providing a really fun, and safe space of self-expression for the locals of rural and remote NT, and all their guests.
